welcome
sioux falls homeschoolers
We are a brand new secular homeschool collective, offering a series of field trips for the 2025–2026 school year. Our mission is simple: to connect, explore, and learn together. About once a week, we will meet at different locations around the community to give homeschooling families a chance to gather, have fun, and enhance their learning.
Our field trips will be held mostly on Wednesdays, with occasional exceptions for special events. They are geared toward elementary-aged children, and siblings are welcome!
In general, participation in our program is free. Some field trips may have associated admission costs, which will always be clearly listed in the individual event description so there are no surprises.
We invite you to visit the events section to view our calendar and stay up to date on upcoming opportunities. We look forward to learning and exploring alongside you!
Our philosophy

Inclusive learning
-
Every child deserves to be heard and valued. Our field trips create a welcoming environment where students can explore new ideas, express themselves, and learn from diverse perspectives. Groupings may change week to week, giving children the chance to meet different peers and expand their social learning.

collective growth
-
Learning is stronger when shared. Each outing encourages collaboration, discussion, and cooperative problem-solving. Students contribute to a vibrant community, building connections and a sense of belonging while supporting one another’s growth.

Hands-on experiences
-
Field trips at Lyra are designed for active exploration and real-world learning. From local sites to interactive activities, each experience sparks curiosity, encourages critical thinking, and equips students with practical skills they can use beyond the classroom
